DENTAXON AXO CAL-LC is a light-cured, resin-modified calcium hydroxide paste designed for use as a protective cavity liner and for pulp capping procedures. The "-LC" designation, meaning "Light Cure," is its key feature, offering a command set that traditional calcium hydroxide pastes (like AXO CAL 3G) do not have

• Composition: It typically consists of Calcium Hydroxide and/or Calcium Silicates suspended in a Urethane Dimethacrylate (UDMA) resin matrix. It also contains Barium Sulfate or a similar filler to make it radiopaque (visible on X-rays).
• Light-Cured: Polymerizes (hardens) in 20-30 seconds under a standard dental curing light, providing an immediate, solid base.
• Higher Strength: Possesses significantly higher compressive strength than traditional pastes, allowing it to withstand the forces of amalgam condensation and the polymerization shrinkage of composites.
• Insoluble: It is insoluble in oral fluids, preventing it from washing out from underneath a restoration, which ensures long-term pulp protection.
• Bioactive: Releases calcium and hydroxide ions, which helps to create an alkaline environment, inhibit bacteria, and stimulate the formation of a reparative dentin bridge
