DENTAXON AXO DEVITALIZER

DENTAXON AXO DEVITALIZER is a specialized, arsenic-free paste used in dentistry for the devitalization (mummification or "killing") of pulp tissue. It is a powerful medicament used in specific endodontic situations where the removal of vital, inflamed pulp is difficult or when local anesthesia is ineffective.

• Paraformaldehyde: This is the primary active ingredient. When placed in contact with pulp tissue, it slowly releases formaldehyde, which deeply penetrates the pulp. Formaldehyde is a powerful fixative that denatures proteins and mummifies the tissue, effectively killing the nerve and blood vessels.
• Lignocaine Hydrochloride (Lidocaine): A local anesthetic is included in the paste to reduce or eliminate the pain that can occur during the initial phase of chemical devitalization.
• Cresol / Other Antiseptics: An antimicrobial agent is often included to disinfect the pulp chamber and prevent bacterial growth during the treatment period.
• Paste Vehicle: A fibrous base that gives the material a paste-like consistency for easy and controlled application.
