DENTAXON AXO PREP is a chelating and lubricating gel used during root canal treatment. The "PREP" in its name refers to its primary function: preparing the root canal for cleaning, shaping, and filling. It is a fundamental material in modern endodontics, facilitating both the chemical and mechanical cleansing of the intricate root canal system.

• 19% EDTA: A high concentration of EDTA for effective and rapid chelation and softening of the canal walls.
• Carbamide Peroxide: This is often included in the formulation. When it comes in contact with sodium hypochlorite (a common root canal irrigant), it produces an effervescent, bubbling reaction. This action helps to lift debris, pulp tissue, and dentin shavings out of the canal, aiding in a more thorough cleaning.
• Lubricating Gel Base: The active ingredients are suspended in a water-soluble, viscous gel. This consistency allows it to be easily carried into the canal and helps suspend debris for removal.
• Water-Soluble: It rinses away easily and completely from the root canal system with irrigation.
